Prayer to help me with my finances5/2/2024 Thank You for reminding us, through Your Word, that we do not. Without a concrete Rock to stand on, we would drift along thinking that we somehow have the power to trump Your authority. Nothing we do or say can add or subtract from His sacrifice… or from who He is. The freedom Christ won us on the cross is what it is. Paul reminds us in Ephesians that there isn’t anything we can do to gain or lose our salvation. No poor decision we make, irresponsible purchase, or insurmountable debt can separate us from Your love. Nothing trumps Your just and loving hand. Use this prayer to confess your challenges with money and ask for God's help and wisdom!įather, praise You for saving us by Your indisputable grace. He is waiting help us and guide us… even through the mistakes we continue to struggle with. When the incorrect choices we make affect our family, friends, and responsibilities, we can turn to God in prayer… trusting that He is not waiting to mound a side of guilt on top of our conviction. How do we have faith that God will provide for us when we’re struggling to keep our lights on, gas in our car, and our growing children in clothes that fit? What about the ache to reach out to others when we lack the means to do it, or having to tell our kids they can’t join their peers because the budget is maxed out?Įvery day we debate ourselves over what to spend our money on. Many of us feel the tight bonds of our budget each month. Anxiety compels us to think about ourselves and hold what we have close – trust comes in the opposite spirit, inspiring us to give generously because we have a generous God.Īnd may the peace of God, which passes understanding, guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.“It is by grace we have been saved.” ( Ephesians 2:5) This could be giving financially, but it could also be a generous gift of time, skills, and acts of kindness. In this moment, ask God if there are ways you can be generous to others, even in the midst of hardship. Yield to His purposes and His provision for you. As you sit with Him now, ask Him to take the worries and concerns that have been weighing you down. Now it’s time to hand things over to Him. You’ve prayed for your needs, your nation’s needs, and the needs of the world. You have praised God, remembered His faithfulness, and recalled His promises. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:31-33 “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Recall what He has said about your future, and remember that He always keeps His word. You might like to remember a combination of promises in the Bible, and from your own history with God. Take some time to recall and record 3-5 other promises God has made. “ And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”īut those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” These two different Scriptures contain promises from God to his people: You may want to make a mind map or a list so that you have a visual representation of all the ways He has worked things together for good in your life. He may have used a job, a generous community, a miracle – be as specific as possible as you remember how He has taken care of you. Continuing to dwell on God’s goodness, start to bring to mind the times in the past when He has provided for you and the people you love.
